When the system is enabled by the driver and certain operating conditions are met, the Idle-Stop system will automatically shut off the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver releases the brake pedal after a stop, or if the steering wheel is turned. If the Brake Hold system is in use, the engine quickly restarts after the throttle is depressed.
